About the Comfort Zone Advantage

Most people think the "comfort zone" is where you go to settle or hide. I’ve proven it’s actually where you go to thrive.

When you remove the fear and the forced "shoulds," you don’t become lazy—you become unstoppable. You perform better, grow stronger, and get results with a lot less effort because you are operating from your ultimate advantage.

I call this the Comfort Zone Advantage

Here you'll find powerful and helpful frameworks and mindsets to achieve change, growth and goals with ease.

It's a place where I openly develop my Comfort Zone Advantage™ concept and at times I will share raw drafts from my upcoming (self-published) book.

FAQ

Q: Be honest: Is 'The Comfort Zone Advantage' just a clever way of telling people it’s okay to be lazy?

A: Sure. It IS ok for people to be lazy. But also, when you operate from inside your comfort zone, you’re coming from a place of feeling good, feeling confidence and with a sense of risk. This in turn makes you almost unstoppable. Successful change and performance comes from wanting to perform and being able to perform. This happens naturally from within your comfort zone. I’m not teaching you to do nothing; I’m teaching you to stop doing the things that don’t work so you have the energy to do the things that do. It’s not laziness—it’s smart.

Q: But isn’t the Comfort Zone where you retreat or hide, where you’re passive?

A: This is one of the biggest myths around human behaviour and performance. I’ve shown that the Comfort Zone is actually where you thrive. What we tend to think is the “Comfort Zone” when we see people withdrawing is actually what I’ve come to call The Coping Zone. Make no mistake, per definition, your comfort zone is your natural and innate state of being, a state of well-being. For more on this myth, please keep reading on this site.

Q: You’ve spent 3,500+ hours in 1:1 sessions. What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about high-achievers?

A: High-achievers are often their own “worst enemy,” meaning that they are the ones preventing themselves from being happy, free and fulfilled–the very thing they work so hard for. I see this as the expression, “When a hammer is all you have, every problem looks like a nail.” Working harder, longer and more, is typically the only tool high-achievers have access to, which means every problem is met with struggle, sacrifice and even suffering. But, more of the same won’t make a difference. What is needed is a different tool–a different approach, that allows for their ultimate advantage!

Q: What does a day in your own 'Comfort Zone' actually look like? Are there hammocks involved?

A: It’s less about hammocks and more about the absence of "fake hurry." My day is built around my natural rhythms: slow mornings, deep focus on things that actually matter, and plenty of space for thinking. I do what I call “Inspired Action” which requires zero motivation or incentive–It’s intrinsic motivation. Things get done because I want them done. I typically won’t do work that feels like a fight. I practice what I preach: I move fast because I refuse to rush.

Q: If we weren’t talking about performance, change or 'operating protocols,' what would we be talking about?

A: We’d probably be having deep and meaningful conversations. I’m not the biggest fan of smalltalk. I like nourishing connections and conversations. Ask me about movies or tech and I could talk your ear off. I love discussing non-fiction books, or talking about running (something that I do several times a week.)

Q: How are you, really, today?

A: I’m actually doing very well. Thank you for asking. I’m in that sweet spot where my work feels like a natural extension of who I am, rather than a performance I have to put on. I’m present, I’m curious, and I’m genuinely excited to see who is going to book that next "Vantage Point" session. Life is good when you stop fighting the current.
